Everyone with a wardrobe needs to purchase (or memorize) the classic color wheel combinations. I have wasted so much time getting dressed in the mornings, trying to pair exciting colours that really don't compliment each other at all. After 20 frustrating minutes I go back to donning my basic black. Since I've purchased a color wheel, I have doubled my clothing options, getting more wear out of my wardrobe and have been putting looks together I didn't think were possible.
Denim is an easy choice, but pairing a neutral blue with a bold red really makes an outfit stand out. Now, if you're ready to incorporate one more splash of colour, try adding some amethyst jewelry to the mix, or a bright yellow belt. These colours might be unfamiliar to you, but they work, and as long as your textures are right, there will be no flaws in your choices. Again, think about denim and how it is so often stitched with a yellowish orange thread. These manufactorers are very familiar with the classic colour wheel.
